Man Prasad Gurung Testimony in English

                                   TESTIMONY

My name is Man Prasad Gurung. I was born on 1988/8/26    in Lamjung district, at place called Ghermu. I was Hindu by birth; I grew up with Hindu culture & traditions. When I was 7 of age, my father passed away. My family had 5 children, because all of were young, mom raised us in hardship. Then, poverty prevailed our family and mom couldn't afford to feed all of us, therefore I had to moved to a neighbor & work, who had fair income from herds, I was assigned to look after the herds. It had not been more than two months after I started working, one day I did not feel like I wanted to take the herds outside for pasturing. However a house owner insisted and I could not deny pasturing the herds. Just as usual, in the afternoon I took herds for pasturing during the rainy reason, it had rained heavy therefore making rock cliff slippery. When I was about to return home, I slipped and stumbled on a rock and fell down. This little accident just made small wound over my left knee, it started bleeding. Blood spilled all over hence I bound the wound with cloth and later cure with herbals.

After someday the wound got even worse and it caused agony. There were no hospital around and beside I was not in position to go hospital for away. Later the left leg became numb causing me physically handicap. This very situation brought my life to misery and anxiety. Despite my physical illness I continued my studies. I was often ignored by kin and friends. After some years, I came to know about a church & Christian. Somehow I always wanted to know about church, though my brothers were against this religion. One day I sneaked to church and heard the message of hope. I believe it was God’s plan. A preacher from the church taught me about salvation and God’s love. Later I accepted Christ as my personal savior in 2005/2/3, and then I had hope and felt rejoicing within.

According to the Nepali calendar during New Year time, Pastor asked if I wanted to visit church often, I answered positively. I got introduced to a preacher from a mission called Every Home Crusade Nepal. He sympathized my situation and asked me if I wanted to go Katmandu (capital of Nepal) to do training which was conducted by Stuti Prashansa Church. On 2005/4/2 I came Katmandu and did 5 months sewing training successfully. Pastor Amber Thapa assisted me financially and mentally to go hospital for treatment. In case the operation was successfully I would be able to walk around comfortably November 2005 .I decided to do operation as I was suggested. After the operation, I felt blessed. I felt God’s plan, then afterwards my spiritual life has been so blessed. God did not only improve my body but my heart also. I thanked God for his grandeur. I realized God had picked me up from the gutter and pain and blessed me abundantly. God worked in me amazingly and I decided to be baptized.

Actually the operation was major and it would have taken long periods to get recover. I prayed with the Lord that I wanted to get healed soon as possible so that I could get baptized. After the operation I got recovered quickly and I was able to walk in four months. I got baptized in 2006/4/10 since than I have been blessed. I've been consistently involved with fellowship as I grow in fellowship. I understand that we are to worship God, Night and Day and praise him in Holiness. I understand God’s calling to preach and share my personal experience. I believe God’s plan in my life. And I pray that God’s will be done in my life.

Amen!                                                                                                                              Thank you.
