Topic: How to celebrate this Christmas?

Text: Luke 2: 1 – 20

Luke 2:8-9, ‘’Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.’’

The angel of the Lord appeared before shepherds in the dark. They were afraid. Whenever people face darkness they fear; anything can happen in the darkness especially the wrong things. In the same way the shepherds were in fear, might be waiting to face attacks or some kind of unusual things. Meanwhile angel of the Lord appeared before them not with the fear but with the Good News. Albeit they first got scared they realized their fear would be taken away by the Almighty God to whom they ought to meet the very night.

There might be people who are still facing darkness in their lives, living in fear and confusion. Thus let’s celebrate this Christmas sharing the Good News of Christ as the angel of the Lord did with the shepherds in the darkness. Let’s continually proclaim the message of hope, peace and joy.

Let this Christmas be the season to share the Good News that the Christ has borne not to give us the spirit of fear but the spirit of joy and peace.

SPIRITUAL REVIVAL CONFERENCE 2016

                   Theme: “Mighty Through God” 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5

We have much to share and so many photos to choose from!  God’s blessings have been experienced in answer to the prayers of many!

MINISTRY AT STUTI PRASHANSA CHURCH

Pastors Brian Winslade, Michael Forlong and Fred Creighton (New Zealand) were speakers at the SPC (Stuti Prashansa Church) Revival Convention, 2016 which was attended by some 600 participants.  In addition there were about 100 children and a visiting YWAM team from New Zealand ran the children’s programme. (The YWAM Team is currently in Nepal as part of their DTS training).

A youthful choir led the exuberant worship.                       Both young and old participated!

 Several different interpreters assisted Brian, Michael and Fred with “on the spot” interpretation both in preaching and listening to expressed needs and requests for prayer...

What a time of rejoicing, praise and worship, undergirded of course with the preaching of the Word.

THE PASTORAL TRAINING SEMINAR followed the Revival Convention with 24 new Pastoral Trainees. This was highly successful and we expect to see the same procedure next year.

The Trainees who attended last year were given special sessions with Pastor Brian where they received further teaching and opportunity to ask questions.  They also received their “Certificate of Completion” plus a Memory Stick with further training materials and the remainder of the T&M Pastoral Training Booklets to make up their full sets of 63 booklets.

Next year we expect to train a further 25 new Pastoral Trainees and this will bring to completion our 3 year Partnership with the Stuti Prashansa Church to see established a basic Church based Pastoral Training Course.

Chapter of the day: Numbers 15 [LAW OF GRAIN AND DRINK OFFERING]

          v. 32 “ Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.”

          This man died by stoning, for his sin was just collecting sticks on the Sabbath day. He was stoned outside the camp. This was indeed commanded by the LORD.

          God commanded Laws through Moses in the wilderness. In the Old Testament, people sinned both the native (Jews) and the strangers (Gentiles), the laws followed them both. However in the later days in the New Testament, when the Gentiles wanted to receive and join the Christianity; the native (Jews) didn’t allow.

          As a conclusion, people only want others to suffer through rules and regulations (in the OT, i.e., Law of Moses), but they didn’t want to give them peace of the LORD.

          Lets be the man who gives peace!!!
